Samsung Galaxy S4 AT & T i337 does not have a network mode menu which sounded like no direct user control over band selection – You are stuck on 4G network!

But there is a simple USSD code to help save your battery life from the excessive battery discharge from 4G network. This code works well on direct stock os. ie. No custom ROM. It requires no root access.

This will not add the “Network mode” option in your mobile network settings instead you need a constant visit by dialling those codes on your dialer anytime you wish to change network mode.

Steps to enable 2G, 3G or 4G on Samsung S4 SGH-i337

preferred network type
Network modes
  1. Dial *#*#4636#*#*
  2. Choose Device Information
  3. Scroll down to Set Network Type
  4. Tap on the arrow pointing down to choose any preferred network type
It is done! You can as well try this method on other Android phones that have this same network mode issue.
