In February 16, WhatsApp announced its plan to discontinue WhatsApp support for Blackberry users, Windows mobile 7, Nokia s40s and s60s before the end of 2016 owing to their incapability to handle the future of WhatsApp messenger.
Even more bad news for BlackBerry. Facebook has finally decided to end support for BlackBerry smartphones including BlackBerry & BBOS. Essential APIs for BB have been discontinued which will affect the working of existing Facebook & WhatsApp apps on all BlackBerry devices. BlackBerry has replaced the official BB Facebook App with a native app which uses a simple web interface.
We fought back to work with WhatsApp and Facebook to change their minds, but at this time, their decision stands (but let them know how you feel on social media, using the hashtag #ILoveBB10Apps)
An extremely disappointed BB says “We fought back to work with WhatsApp and Facebook to change their minds, but at this time, their decision stands (but let them know how you feel on social media, using the hashtag #ILoveBB10Apps)”. Despite this, we have worked hard to ensure our end users have the best experience in light of this decision, and are continuing to search for alternate solutions.” Just when you thought BB had it bad enough, things just get worse for them.
As a BlackBerry user, you are bound to losing support for Facebook contact syncing, BlackBerry Hub integration and the ability to share media on the social media platform via the share button.
