If you received the error message (#5900) Tried to delete a contact that was not imported, it shows that you are trying to remove Messenger contact from your list.

The reason is that you are trying to delete a contact that has either blocked you on Messenger or you did not add the contact directly on Messenger.

If someone has blocked you on Messenger, you can’t send messages nor receive messages from them. In this case, you may be shown with this error.

A contact that was not imported means that you did not add the contact through Messenger. There are ways contacts are added on Messenger.

  1. It could be through Suggested People
  2. From your phone contacts or
  3. Messenger requests

If you see this message (#5900) Tried to delete a contact that was not imported, it could be the combination of both – someone has blocked you or contact was not added through Facebook.

There’s nothing you can do to these contacts.
