If you have noticed that your Facebook messenger stuck on sending while trying to send a message to your friend, then this article has explained everything you need to know.

1.Facebook Messenger stuck on sending

This has appeared to be common recently. There are two possibilities, they are

• Sender’s network connectivity
• Facebook server

1.1   Sender’s network connectivity

Here, if your Messenger message is stuck on sending, it could be that your network connectivity is very poor. Sometimes it may show “Waiting For Network“.

Here, you may need to find a strong wifi network around you.

1.2   Facebook server

If your messenger message is stuck on sending even after you have confirmed your network connectivity to be perfect, then it could be from Messenger data center.

This situation is not always a global issue, depending on which data centre your region falls into. If your data centre experiences a glitch, you are probably going to experience it. This can even cause your Messenger home to be loaded without your chat history.

It will only take few hours before Facebook could fix it. You don’t have to worry much about it. There’s also a special way to switch to a different location by using a VPN app. You can as well using Facebook for the Web either using a PC, Mac or mobile browser.

2. Facebook Messenger message send not delivered, delivered not read.

Here, if your messenger message is sent and marked as delivered but not yet read, it means that your chat is yet to be read. But in a situation where your message was sent but not yet delivered for days even when the person you sent it to appears to be online then your message was purposely ignored or restricted, the message is not yet approved from Connection Requests or Message Request, the recipient is currently offline or the recipient has not installed Messenger.

3. Facebook Messenger down, Can’t send, receive message

This is exactly what we have discussed above on option 2. You could also try to login using another Facebook account. Don’t have another Facebook account? You could create a new Facebook account in order to figure out if the issue is solely from one particular account.

4. Can’t send a message on messenger?

One has to be sure if the problem is from sending a message to a particular Messenger user or to everyone on his/her list.

If one can’t send a message to a particular friend

It may be because he/she has blocked you. There’s a pop-up notice for a blocked user on Messenger, “Can’t send message”. That’s an indication that you have been blocked on Messenger

If one can’t send a message to another Messenger contact

This is common when someone has been reported severally as spam. This ban is temporary by Messenger. You can begin sending messages once your case is settled.

5. Why does my message fail to send on Facebook?

Messenger app user;

Messages fail to send when the network is not strong to push the message to the intended recipient. One can retry sending the message by tapping on it.

For PC users, If your message fails to send, try resending it by clicking the icon to the right of the message that failed to send.

6. What does it mean when a message has been sent but not delivered?

A message is sent but not yet delivered shows that the recipient is currently unreachable either not online, not using Messenger or one’s chat is yet to be accepted on the recipient’s Connection request.

8. Messenger won’t send my messages, it just keeps saying “Can’t send message”

This shows that your recipient has either blocked you on Messenger. You too can be friends on Facebook but cannot send messages to each other on Messenger.

Or your recipient has temporarily deactivated their Facebook account.

9. It could be a server problem

Most times messages are delayed before they are sent. Sometimes you see “Chat is currently unavailable. or Message stuck on sending without ticking either sent, deliver or even read.”.

If this shows up, it could be that Messenger server is down at the moment. The best thing to do is to leave the Messenger app on for about 1 hours until it comes down to normal.

If you cannot be patient enough for 1 hour, then you may try logging to Facebook with PC or Web browser.
