Let me guess, you have been looking for a way to stay invisible on Facebook messenger online list? You have wished to stay low key to few people? or you just don’t always need to be typing with almost any chat.
Hope I got it right?
I guess you have been pissed seeing that Facebook Messenger’s active now green icon even when you are currently not using Messenger. You might have quarreled with your personal folks from their claims to snubbing their chats even when your online status shows active. Today is a good day to put some limitations to it.

In this guide, I will walk you through on how you can turn off Facebook messenger active now to completely offline using some tricks.
Conventionally, when using Facebook Messenger; a green icon shows that you or a friend is currently active. When you tried to turn off the active icon to off, it still shows up to friend’s active list. I will recommend that you uninstall Messenger right away.
Head over to Play Store to download Messenger Lite. Messenger lite was originally delivered to people having poor internet connections when you talk about 3G/4G. With Messenger lite, there is no feature of turning on/off your online status. You won’t be visible again to your friend’s online list of active friends.
Any limitation using Facebook Messenger Lite?
- You won’t be able to send stickers and emoji!
- You won’t be able to view active friends
- You may not view friend’s profile using Messenger unless when redirected to your mobile browser.
- No chat heads
What other benefit can I get using Facebook Messenger Lite?
You become invisible to your friend’s active friend list i.e no more green icon or active now.
When a friend opens a previous conversation between parties, he/she may see your last seen. But if you are currently using Messenger lite, you may appear active on that current conversation.
