How to restore all your contacts through Google account
Add your Google account to your Android device.
Do you have a Google account? Something like “casadee92@gmail.com“. Add it to your Android device through Account menu in your phone settings. To add, open your phone Settings > Accounts > Add account > Google then follow the simple steps. You can move along if you have done it earlier.Allow Auto-sync
Allowing “Auto-sync” lets Google automatically checks and synchronizes every new changes to your contacts. Open your phone Settings > Accounts. Select the account you just added. Now tap on your device menu button and select “Sync now”.Tap on “Sync now” to begin uploading your contacts to Google cloud @ChuksGuide Note: Your device menu button is that beside your home button. Exporting your contacts to either your device storage or memory card. This will copy all your contacts in “.vcf” format into your storage. Why not export to Google instead? There will be duplicate of contacts when exported to your Google account. Open your contacts app, choose “Import/export contacts”.Tap “OK” to begin copying your contacts to your device or SD storage @ChuksGuide You have the option to either “Export to device storage” or “Export to SD card”. Move over to the next step once your export was successful. If you cannot see “Import/export contacts”, select Settings > Contacts from your contacts app and there it is.
Deleting your contacts
After you have exported your contacts to your device storage / SD card, we now delete every contacts currently in your SIM or phone. Do not panic! You have gotten a backup of your contacts through our earlier exports.Delete all your contacts @ChuksGuide To delete, open your contacts app, tap on your device menu button and select “Delete”. Tick to select all contacts and tap “Done”. Confirm the option to delete.
Importing contacts
Now, lets import our contacts back. We are importing those contacts we earlier exported. Open your contact app, select “Import/export contacts”. You have the option to either “Import from device storage” or “Import from SD card” depending on your initial export selection.Now, import all your contacts to your Google account @ChuksGuide Now from “Save contact to” pop up, select the Google account you earlier created to start importing your contacts.
Sync imported contacts to Google cloud.
I have a good feeling that your import was successful. Now you have your contacts stored on Google. Quickly repeat step 2 to allow Auto-sync.
